lovely challenge:

march 11 004.JPGmarch 11 002.JPG See these two items? (a journal and a $10 starbucks card) Brown, pink, and green. SO spring and so pretty. I’m inspired. I want to create something inspired by them. Want to join in?

Create a craft project (anything but a card, unless you’re truly a ‘cards only’ crafter) inspired by these and post in the gallery. Then post a link here by March 31st to be entered to win. What will you win? Some new heidi grace lovelies, a tape runner, AND the two items I used for inspiration! YES! You can win the starbucks gift card + journal.

    And this is how I do a blog. I open up all the images in new tabs so I can see them better, then I go back and read the blog so I know what they’re talking about. As soon as I saw the card I wanted to use it for something! And I LOVE BIRDS! Argh! hehehe. Thanks May!

    Ok, I took your challenge and here is what I did! I wanted to keep that clear look of the starbucks card while adding common elements so I decided to make a clear acrylic suncatcher for my window to welcome spring! I used alcohol inks to create a tie dye effect with the pink and green and then threw some stamping of flowers in to match. I added some bling and a circle with bling in the flower center using my crop-a-dile and jump rings. I finished it off with a bird in flight because I wanted to tie in that element from the journal as well.!

    Here’s my layout for the ‘Lovely Challenge’. Even though we don’t have Starbucks in Canada, I’m still inspired by it. lol My niece emailed me some pics yesterday of her daughers (my great nieces). This pic definately spoke to me & is perfect for this challenge. Love the pink, brown & green combo.

    I was truly inspired! Green, brown and a much subtler pink (but pink all the same). I wanted to do something different so I made a project using pressboard bay window shapes with perfect paper (with birds!) to meet the challenge.
