Jenni Bowlin: Chipboard Obsession

I’m so excited Cheryl asked me to share this project with you! Being that it’s Fiskar’s blog I knew exactly what I wanted to talk about. I have an obsession with covering chipboard with patterned paper! So much in fact that the chipboard shapes I produce for Jenni Bolwin Studio are made with a glossy white top, perfect for using a tape runner on (without pulling up a layer like naked chipboard would do). I use my craft knife to trim around the edges, a little sandpaper to perfect, and I have a custom covered shape ready for my layout! This is one of my favorite photos so I didn’t want a lot of pattern to compete with it. Adding the little bits to the butterfly seemed to do the trick. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you Jenni for sharing your talent and time with us. Jenni is such a talented and inspirational artist. She’s always so sweet and I want to thank you. One thing that I love about Jenni is her gift to turn found trinkets into treasure.

May 19th, 2007 at 6:41 pmSuch a lovely page - I’m very frugal when it comes to scrapping supplies and am constantly covering naked chipboard and recovering pre-printed chipboard with paper that fits my theme and LO. I love how it gives the LO’s a lift with the custom embelishments
So the moral is, if you don’t think you’d ever use that piece because of the colours/print, just carefully tear off the top layer and recover in a scrap that co-ordinates with your LO
