3 fiskateers: theme album #2

What I love about the 3 fiskateer missions is how different each agent works and thinks. As I said before in part 1, theme albums is something that we all struggle with keeping fresh and interesting. Well, agent Lisa Pace has put the fun back into monochromatic albums! She started with a blank album from Maya road which she painted, and used weathered wood crackle medium to create the cool crackle effect. Crackle is a simple technique that looks awesome- all you have to do is pick up some crackle medium and read the directions- usually just involves coating your project with it and then painting a contrasting color over the top to make the cracks appear. (more on that another time!) For now let’s focus on this totally charming spring book…
In her words:
I decided to create this mini album as if it were a journal. I really wanted to focus just on the Heidi Grace products and felt white ledger paper would do just that. The green is fabulous. It is my favorite shade and just screams Spring. It reminds me of the color of new leaves popping out on the trees and bushes. Just makes you smile. Since I was focusing on Spring I thought ribbon flowers would be perfect for the front cover and first page. These Heidi Grace ribbons are perfect for making ribbon flowers.
I cut the Monogram frame and placed a section on the top and bottom of the photo on the first page. “Follow your” was created by tracing the lowercase letters of the monograms then painted in with acrylic paint, outlined with a black ZIG pen and covered with Stickles (Star Dust) by Ranger.
The butterfly wings on the “in bloom” page are created using Heidi Grace heart rub ons and the letter “I” for the body. I distressed the edges of each photo and stapled the photos onto the paper to give it more of a journal like feel. The quote “Sisters are different flowers from the same garden” I used several different styled flowers instead of spelling out flowers. The last page I used rub ons to create the pattern on the paper and the monograms for each girls initial.
Thank you for the AWESOME inspiration to create Lisa. To help celebrate I’ll be giving away a sheet of rub-ons, package of ribbon, and sheet of glitter chipboard (like Lisa used) to one person who comments here.

April 24th, 2007 at 12:00 pmI LOVE the crackle finish on the front. And I’m sad to say that when I read the quote about “sisters being different flowers from the same garden” I missed the fact the flowers were the “flowers.” Doh. Some days I’m a little slow on the uptake.
Just found you today and adding to my regular reads. Inspiration is good!

April 24th, 2007 at 8:56 pmDoes anyone know what the name of the HG embellies that was used to create this book? For some strange reason we do not have much HG being sold here out on the East cost.
Lisa used the everyday grace (green) embellishments. Here is a link- http://www.heidigrace.com/tools/_viewcategory.aspx?type=primary&id=31
