3 fiskateers: Heidi Grace flowers

That’s right, it’s time for a new 3 fiskateers mission. It’s spring at last! (well, at least it is here) and along with flowers in bloom it seems that local scrapbook stores are blooming with floral papers and embellishments- especially Heidi Grace! I asked Maya, Sandy, and Sudie to work their magic on flowers, and did they ever! Rather than choosing traditional colors like pink and purple… they worked with orange, green, and black! Their projects are inspiring and make me feel like getting out my stash of flowers. I’m sure you’ll feel the same!
Here are the pages from Maya (fiskateer # 351). I love how on the first page she made a quilt-like pattern with the squares, and let the one photo take center stage. On the second layout she had flowers with stems anchor her journaling. I’m also feeling inspired to use some scallop shaped paper! Finally on her third layout check out the flower fairy hat/crown. The simplicity and beauty of this page truly warms my heart. To be honest I’m not a big fan of orange, but Maya has me wanting to search for the citrus color and play.
Next up, Sandy (fiskateer #31) had fun with green flowers. Her simple design would be great for mother’s day, a thank you card, or just random note hello. Note how she used teardrop shaped rain dots as leaves. She’s inspired someone (me!) who doesn’t really do cards to want to make a few of these! She also created a simple and stunning layout “grow”. The title is made from Heidi Grace’s new alphabet monograms, and a layered flower for the O. I would not have thought to use such a dark background on this page, but it totally works and is wonderful.
Finally, Sudie (fiskateer #97) created a super simple, and totally awesome ‘out of the box’ mini book. Inspired by the cardboard boxes that all her favorite treasures come from (like scrapbook supplies!) she used the cardboard to form an 8×8 mini book. Sudie used the drill to make the holes, and also her album is bound with rings. Note how she paired the black and white with the soft ‘tiffany’ blue. Combined with the neutral cardboard color I totally love the effect!!! This is a great (budget friendly) idea for a gift, or fun mini book of your own.
I am so inspired. I know I say that every time, but once again my secret agents have created amazing projects and given us fresh ideas and inspiration. If you would like to win some Heidi Grace flowers, and a set of ABC monograms… just leave a comment here! I’ll draw a winner Monday. What will the 3 fiskateers work with next? Who will they be? Stay tuned…
