Gretchen Schmidt: Christmas Tradition Tree

Hi everyone! I’m so happy to have been asked to be a Fiskateer guest blogger this month. I’m excited to be here! Every year during the holidays, there are two main photos I take of my three children. One is a photo for our Christmas cards and the second is of them Christmas morning, in front of the tree before all the commotion starts. This year I wanted something special to remember last years pictures, because honestly, these kids of mine are growing up way to fast.
I created this Christmas Tradition tree to showcase our two main holiday photos. I can easily add the previous year’s pictures using the small clothes pins or the magnet boshers. To make the bosher magnets, I took one of the many thin Pizza Hut magnets we have on our refrigerator, cut it down to size, punched a hole, and used glue dots to add it to the back of the bosher.
This cute little tree is a specialty item sold at my local scrapbook store. As soon as I picked it up, I knew just what I wanted to do with it and thought it would be perfect for my Fiskateer blog project. I used a regular glue stick to add the papers to the metal. I cut the papers into strips and then wrapped it around the edges a bit. I then cut out one big piece of green to cover the back (this way all at folded over papers are hidden).
Thank you for having me as your guest! I hope everyone enjoys the project.
Gretchen
